My name is Monica Van Ess.  I grew up in Dubuque, and now live with my family in Waukee.

In high school I received my first Pentax camera and preferred to spend my time in the darkroom listening to music and developing my pictures.  I enjoyed capturing students in action either having fun or showing their talents at events.  I always thought that photos share personality and someone's story.

I've always agreed with the quote, "a picture is worth a thousand words".  I feel that my time has come to use my passion and start a photography business.  I feel that photography is an art and it will take the rest of my life to learn it.  Please come on this journey with me and let me take your photos!
